I recon Ford should be paying this site commission as it's a top promoter of their product. it's probably because of what I have read on this site that I have decided to take the plunge to get rid of the EA and treat myself to a new XR6T. Deep down I am a Hemi head, fell in love with that E49 6 pack charger which put V8's to shame back in the 70's and even up to the 90's, good to see that now Ford has brought out the 8 eating Turbo. Anyway, enough of the preable and onto the postamble (if that's a word).... So I'm going to be on the market for a new T in a couple of weeks. Do I wait for Orion? or get a well priced and optioned and debugged current shape? I figure some of the options which are being thrown in now probably won't be free on the Orion T, does anyone know if this will be the case? A dealer I spoke to last week reconed some of the options which were thrown in end of AU were removed when BA arrived and was pretty much certain this would be the case from BF to Orion. I know the Orion is said to have 15kw more than current T, but that's nothing an edit wont fix ....Going by previous model changes eg. AU to BA, what sort of price increases would you expect for base XR6T from BFII to Orion? one more question, I am entitled to fleet discounts through work, so I am wondering through experience if anyone knows whether or not dealers have been known to budge on those prices? Thanking you in advance for your assistance and well done again on a great site....

Until it's released we won't know for sure what will be on offer. The BFII is a sound package and I think the added extras on the sedans at the moment are quite good. From my point of view I'd be looking at a BFII, only because things like my car computer and gauges can be carried over. That is unlikely to be the case with the Orion.Since you don't have a BA/BF I'd be inclined to hold off until the details are released. BFII's will still be available and you'll be more informed to make a decision that suits you best once you have all the info.

The other side of the coin is that Orion will most definitely cost more and I dont think my budget will allow the extra. I was initially going to spend about low $20K for a BA, then the 6 speed came out, so figured will wait for those to drop abit, then though well for abit more might as well go new, so I suppose we need to learn to draw the line somewhere, the way I'm going I will be talking myself into buying a Ferrari and a few years lol.... I almost bought a T before I found myself in an R Spec Typhoon. Here's my quotes from carbon copy contracts I signed...2007/2008 BF MKII Xr6 Turbo (6 speed manual)(which they wouldn't build me)Tow PackReverse SensorsFog Lamp GuardsMomo Steering WheelLuxury PackIpod jackSunroofXR Scuff Plate InsertsPrivlidge Club Discount (Staff Discount) was $39,879 onroadFleet Discount was $43,332 onroad.Without all those options, the car should be around $32,000 with the staff discount, and around $37,000 for a fleet discount. If you like the look of them, go and haggle a dealer for an 07 built BF MKII now that you know how much they are really worth...Jump on youtube and check out the new orion videos and search some pics on google. If you like the shape and features of them (of what we can all see with the bras on) then wait around for it. However, you'll end up paying a lot for the first one. It's like a PS3. They were over $1000 when they came out, now they're like $650 detailed, unregistered and fully optioned (/joke)Good luck with it mate.

Obviously the R-Spec would be the preffered option. Are those prices GST Inclusive? Which dealer did you go through?
