You are correct about the brain controlling the opposite sids of ones body. A crossover occurs in the synaptic pathways resulting in this. Often when people suffer from a stroke or severe brain injury they develop weeknesses/motor skill deficiencies in one side of the body and this is indictavie of the opposing side of the brain that the stroke/injury has occurred in.

And left brained (fact ruled.. science orientated.. reality based.. rational.. objective great bloke etc).
