The Dunnydore's unbraked capacity is pathetically low.I have to admit, towing a big boat with the T would be crap. It's burn through fuel like nobody's business. A petrol turbo will always be heavy on fuel when towing (especially heavy things), it keeps the turbo on song and under load a hell of a lot more than normat driving. This also puts more stress on the motor. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty marginal, I wouldn't use an SS for big towing either. They're severely underbraked and the chassies aren't really meant to cope with the stresses. If I had a big boat I'd have to get a V6 or Turbo diesel Hi-lux or the like. Whangaroa harbour would be a nice spot.

(At least that is the limits in New Zealand.) Fuel economy is miles better.Though I'd love to see the new towing capacity of the FG. Have you guys read anything on that ?.And to be honest I've seen the full pictures of the new FG, and they haven't got the front looking very agressive at all. Maybe they'll sort that in the MK II.I'm still a ford man at heart and I'll probably be back.Have a great easter....

This is simply because the sports suspension set-ups aren't rated for towing. The same goes for the SS, it's just that Expensive Daewoo aren't responsible enough, or honest enough to quote seperate towing rates for the SS, SV6 or Bogan special , instead they quote the same rates as the Omega. If towing capacity was what you wanted, the XR utes are rated to tow 2300kg in auto (because of the leaf sprung rear), just like the rest of the Falcon range, yet the SS utes can only carry 500kg in the tray (why does their sedan have a higher load capacity than their ute)?As far as fuel goes, a T will most definately use more fuel towing, but should be more efficient than the SS for everyday driving.Ah well, your loss
