He has a BA mkii so he is at the safe limit of the stock rods. ( this is tune Dependant of course)

I had 286 with stock exhaust, 968's, fuel pump, valve springs and HD Organic Clutch

I was happy with the 286 and the only reason I got the Exhaust was because I was going to keep the car for a while and wanted to take some stress off the engine. Jim kept the boost the same.The difference from 286 to 327 is another league.

My Clutch is holding up fine. (knocks on wood)

So would a stock exhuast minus middle muffler, add decent cat and dump flow well enough to get me in the 300rwkw mark, especially if I improve intake.

Yep, the stock system (inc dump) with a better cat and no centre muffle will go to low 300s without too much effort... a bigger dump will only improve things again

For sure I have 4''dump to 5"cat with same mods at 307 rwkw at 14 psi.
