Cooler Comparison

Just before christmas I done some of my own street testing on the new nizpro cooler in comparison to my current nizpro cooler (thanks robin/xlnt6).

Previously there wasn't many coolers which rivaled the nizpro cooler I originally purchased, (like the aps cooler) in terms of air temp.

To say the least, only yesterday I purchased the new nizpro cooler given the conclusion I come up with testing on robins car.

I will say a lot of people will be surprised with the results of some coolers which look like they will work, and coolers that look lacking but yield good results.

So the new design Nizpro bar & plate cooler is superior to the Nizpro old tube & fin design?

Be interesting to see how it compares with the Plazaman 1000hp cooler ... any predictions?

Simon, what modifications would you deem needed to be on the car for you to want to run up the car for this testing?

What sort of boost would you want to see the car tuned at for this testing?

I would like to see injectors, Valve springs, perferable a good exhaust system, better than factory and possibly waste gate /actuator mods. 15 psi boost is a reasonable level and what most guys would like to run. As I mentioned before we need a car that makes very very consistant numbers run after run, not one on the raged edge. Power levels are secondary remember we are testing the cooler not power output.

I have all the above bar the wastegate modifications, you can use my car if I can get that done within time.

I am not putting my car under any dyno comparisons with unknown hardware until I sort out my boost control issues. Will keep you updated.

I am willing to put my car up as the test mule if everyone is happy for it to be used, but would have to be during the week as I work weekends, say Tuesday-Thursday.

If it is going to be on a weekend I cant do it as I work a weekend roster as quoted. Sorry guys. If you do it mid week no problems though.

For anyone interested I have posted some tec info on Nizpro forum under XR6T and then in the intercooler section. The tests and results are only on our new intercoolers but may give some idea on how I believe the testing should go plus any thing that other manufactures would like to test at the time. There is a brief description of the testing procedure along with dyno graphs with boost, pressure drop and intake charge temperature.
