Looks like I got RIPPED? Just found the invoice. It was $210 total. But that also included a couple of fittings and 1m of hose. Its not itemised so not exactly sure. But as I said ive got the V8 one.Never thought about overcooling, but mine is tucked in behind the I/C, and its always hot up north here anyways.... Red t ute Member 24 Member For: 18y 5m 27d Gender: Male Location: Mackay Posted 18/01/08 01:47 AM Share Posted 18/01/08 01:47 AM Its wierd I think he said 120 for medium and 125 for the large? Mind you I was yelling at him through my passenger side window as they were closing up...I'll confirm tomorrow, and I'll ask about this heavy duty one aswell... I think the 'large' one he quoted me for is the v8 one...Ive fited the V8 cooler in front of the right front wheel and its a tight fit I dont think the heavy duty one would fit in there

A mate recommended Speed Parts in Narre warren/Hallam.. The guy I spoke to in the shop has a BA xr8 ute. Hes running 4.11 gears and a 4000 stall and he says that his tranny never misses a beat with that cooler, he says he gives his ute a good thrashing... He has it mounted infront of his radiator, but I looked at the V8 PWR cooler at Repco and the B&M is almost twice as thick, so I can rule out putting it between the icooler and radiator, so im gonna mount it infront of the front wheel like most have.. As it doesnt come with anything other than the cooler itself, all I need to know is how much piping do I need? Im gonna make up some brackets etc.. myself...Mike.... Putting a guage inside isn't the only way, place 1 on the cowl or in the engine bay, or have a temp 1 simply placed thru the window & disconnect it once you've established its working to your satisfaction. trust me on this I've spent big money to people in the know and had one 400m pass at a lowly 110mph boil the oil off the scale, so a few amateurs suggestions, well I'll let u decide

Are you doing it all by yourself?Chris.Hey Chris,Yeah bought the cooler, I've decided how I want to fit it, bought the fittings and 2m of hose, still need to figure out the brackets, but it shouldnt be too hard...Nah im not fitting it my mate is, I'll be supervising hehhe... Hes fitted a few to different cars, and if its as easy as most say it is, than he should be able to do it no probs...I'm fitting it maybe next week, also along with my Intercooler and UBP, so it should make for a fun day, hope I still have hair left by the end of the day.... I'll be sure to chuck some pics and stuff when its all done...Cheers Mike...

I searched and read heaps of posts when looking into this and not one had any actual proof ie. measured before and after temps to see whats goin on... 90% have just said 'yeah it works', 'its heaps better'. The way I look at it is, 'you play, you pay' this is just little insurance for the tranny cause one day its gonna go..
