Why dont people shut there car down when the throttle gets stuck? Ive heard of a few cases of people saladering it due to throttles getting stuck, mainly in old holdens to..... You can just turn the key to off ya know.

Mate all you are trying to do is friggin work out what the hell is going wrong! You havent got time to think sensibly in that kinda situation. You are more worried about trying to steer your car away from spectators than trying to think "ok, car revving very hard, not stopping very well, havent got much front traction, crap there's a concrete barrier, maybe the throttle is jammed open, or maybe the linkages are jammed"

Trust me, you will know what im talking about when you are in that situation. It happened to me on the dyno, and it frightens the hell outta you.

Yeah the poor guy was in total shock... he did well to hit the concrete barrier and not mow down 100 poeple... he was gaining some serious speed in a very short distance
