Knocking/rattle After Fitting Aps Exhaust

Hello

Got a 2nd hand APS Exhaust fitted to my sedan. When taking off in 1st gear or going around corners at low speed, ie in 1st, there is a knocking noise. Almost sounds like a grinding noise.

When you move the tips at the rear you can hear it knocking just over the Diff.

I thought these exhausts were custom made to suit the XR and are one of the best. Is there something I'm missing from the exhaust?

How could this not be aligned properly. Did notice the 3.5" single pipe does sit lower as it srapes over bumps. My Car is lowered though

Thanks

Hi mate, first post yay!

I may be totally off but that sounds like my xr6 when I had the exhaust done and it ended being the honeycomb in the cat converter

like I said I could be way off but yea I had no idea what it was either till they told me

mate

my ute does the same with a new fitted APS exhaust, just like yours, there is a klunking when you shake the talipipe sideways... or drive around RH bumpy corners....I was going to load up the rubber hanging bush a tad sideways to eliminate it, but it is only every now and then - and I kind of live with the odd clunk now

( mine only bangs if you shake it sideways)

if it banged all the time, I would have gotten creative, but I was lucky its only now and then.

my ute is stock standard height etc

cheers

Okay just some additional info. There are 2 issues

1) is the clunking when moving the tailpipes sideways and it knocks over the diff area,

2) is a continuous creak/grind when turning left from low speed, like taking off. I was doing continuous u turns turning left, and it did it every time. It does it when not accelerating and is even worse when applying the accelerator

At first it was doing it when taking off from 1st, now its when turning left.

I'm going to jack the car up in the morning and check the rear springs in case their not in properly and rubbing on metal Hope its this and not something more serious.

okay found out what the problem is. Had my car getting tuned and got them to check it out. When the exhaust moves, one of the hangers is rubbing on my tyre. Because I have wide tyres on the rear. 265's. Aparently the exhaust needs to move to the left, but I dont know how I'm going to do this without putting the rear tips out of centre.

I dont understand why the exhaust knocks over the diff and why the hanger rubs on the tyre. Never heard of anyone else with an APS having this problem.
