Get a tune done and you will be more impressed. I opted for springs, injectors etc and went straight to 290 rwkw. However the biggest thing for me was having the 4 spd pressures raised and harder shifts. Transforms the car in my opinion.

My rig still steps out on boost in 3rd.Thanks for the kind offer guys. I'm in Adelaide S.A. Stepping out in 3rd is more what I'm talking about! I would be happy if it would be stepping out in 2nd gear, or even getting a slight tyre chirp/squeek, but alas, nothing! May have been the fact it was almost 40 here today and there were 3 people in the car.

They are not the fastest things in the world but they are turbo'd so smashing the loud pedal to the floor before you get it on boost will make it feel even more slugish. SHOWDOWN BACK SLOWER THEN EVER! Member 706 Member For: 17y 6m 2d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 05/01/08 01:11 PM Share Posted 05/01/08 01:11 PM RSK, if you test drove a stockie auto mate this is the impression you would get. Reason is these are production cars and have to be built for longevity. If you launched and hit 0-100 in 4 sec with stock internals your engine would be on the road before too long. If you want a quick launch buy yourself a rex and do your 4000rpm dumps that will give you the hit your after. The XR6T with mods and a tune get moving a whole lot faster but quick take offs that's limited to light cars with big power. In the long run very few things will catch a modded XR6T as these guys will tell you. Ozzie

Mostly it just sits there frying the tyres in a straight line.

However the last time I was at the drags I had wheelspin all the way thru 1st gear & then a BIG sideways moment when I snicked 2nd. Think I'll put some better rubber on the back before I try again.
