Hey all! :slap:

I have finally done it.

After almost 6 years of driving around in odd and mostly boring cars since getting my licence, I have finally purchased my first Turbo!

I ordered a 6 speed manual BF MKII XR6 turbo, Silk colour, with the new body kit, 18's, Luxury pack (leather, prem sound, dual climate etc.), sunroof, reverse sensors, momo wheel, foglight covers, IPOD adaptor & tow pack, all for a ridiculous (and Priviledge Club discounted) price of $39,879 drive away. The RRP for the car and accessories is $52,427. Just crazy.

I currently have a 5-speed BA MKII XR6, which the guy is also giving me an unbeatable trade in price on (probably because it's manual and they're hard to find)

It's going to start when the factory opens (whenever that is) and should be ready late Jan early Feb.

I'll post some pics when it arrives.

Now for the questions...

What is a good set of lowered springs to fit (legal height of course)

Should I run the engine in for 5k or 10k before getting Pete's mechs to fit an APS Phase I kit?

Are the stock brakes as sh*te as my BA's? If so should I get the stock rotors slotted? Any suggestions that are light on the wallet?

Is there anyone in the eastern suburbs who fit the boost and oil pressure centre gauges above the vents and do a good job?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Now I just have to tough it out and wait for it :flick_flex:

APS phase 1... :flick_flex:You are joking right? Edit is far superior.

I think 5k would be plenty of run in time for that level of mod.

Use King Springs to lower it. I think the sedan guys go superlow in the rear and low in the front.

BF brakes are bigger and better than BA brakes.

Have a look at our sponsors section for people in your area that could fit the gauges for you. They all have extensive experience with these cars.

Sounds good!

Who does the best tune in Melbourne?

I don't want to spend much, just a remap/tune for approx 250rwkw.

Thanks :flick_flex:

Nizpro tunes my ute. Not the cheapest around but certainly one of the best!

You could save yourself a bit by getting a blank CAPA box and just getting them to do the tune. Some places do a special on the boxes from time to time.

Welcome to the site. Congrats on your new car. Edit is the way to go as far as tuning. Why bend the signals and trick the computer when you can just remap the computer to do what you want. The gauges are pretty easy to do yourself if you have have the time. It isn't too difficult to do and you will have plenty of help with instructions from here. You can spend the money saved on your mods.

that's a pretty good deal you got there... so good that im slightly jealous. I just picked up a brand new XR6T BF MKII - EGO - 6 speed Manual with all the normal extras just not the sunroof, revearse sensors and the leather seats. I paid $39,000 flat. I had a national fleet discount through my work... what type of discount did you get???

It was the staff discount to an immeditate family member. However I may still have to settle for a fleet discount because of the kind of lease I'm trying to get. This would bring it up to $43,332.

However, I just got a call from the bloke at Ford while I was away, and he told me that the factory are refusing to build me a 6-speed manual. He reckons that they have stopped making them to allow for the changeover to the new model. He said they might do an Auto but not a manual.

So I'm not very happy now, I was hoping to get a 2008 build. Now I'll have to settle for something that has already been built in 07. They have to do the ring around to find the closest thing they can find to what I ordered.

Not happy Jan. Now I'm considering waiting for the new model, however I'm terribly impatient and I have no idea when the new XR's will be released :fool:

So now I don't know what to do?

Just have to wait and see what they come up with I spose.

gee that's unfortunate. I was lucky to get mine.... when they did the ring around the obviously dont stock the manuals at the new car yards because apparently there isnt a huge demand for them. When they called into the ford factory they happened to have one in products in the colour I wanted and had not put the drive train in as of yet. So after what you just told me I'm feeling lucky!

I heard they new ones are coming out in June or July!
