Hi guys,

The 5 years finance is up on my BA 'T' in March next year and I am really mulling over what to do then. Firstly, I'm after some indication of what the car's worth now. It's stock plus:

Performance Brakes

Sunroof

Leather Seats

Premium Sound

Sports Steering Wheel

As per probably most users here, it's been extremely well looked after, my friends can't believe it's nearly 5 years old. Interior's virtually unmarked, usually only me in it and rarely anyone in the back.

Other than the self inflicted stuff (all repaired), there's been nothing wrong with it. Redbook reckon about $20K (tops), but that's stock. Any ideas based on the above? Oh, about 72,000km.

Anyway, I really don't know what to go for next. A new BA MKII Turbo again? Or something European that isn't quite so rough around the edges, if you know what I mean. I had a BMW 325i as a hire car in RSA last year and loved it. A friend of mine has 2 SAAB's that he really likes. I really, really like the oomph of the T and the general looks, but the clunky drivetrain still sh*ts me. I've finally got rid of the 'woosh woosh' of the hand brake, but that was another. We won't even talk about the l/km.

Comments? Thoughts?

Simon....

I would wait and see what the orion turns out to be like. With any luck some of the fualts that you've had with your BA will be gone.

Low $20k for your car as it is an early 2003 model if it is 5 year old.

Go the new Mondeo XR5 Turbo. I reckon they look tops and probably go like the clappers too.

Well, the price is prolly gonna drop a bit more post Mar 2008 after Ford officially launch the new 2008 Falcon. Ya might want to drive around a cheap clanger until you see what Ford really have to offer in the new 2008 Falcon XR6 T? :spoton:

Thanks guys, I'll work on $20K and see if I am pleasantly surprised or not. Might be time to chat to my friendly Ford dealer before the 2008 models come out. Are there are threads on it? I'll have a search. Not sure if I want to get v1 of a new car again though.

You would get around 24k easy just look at othere stock Ts up for sale on carsales.

Yeah but they dont sell for that.

The guy selling mine wanted $29K but I got it for $26K and that was about 8 months ago.

Mine is as per my sig was over 1 year younger and less kays.

Now I think if you put $25K on it and if you sell it for $22-$23K you will be doing well for a 2003 model.

Just dont set yourself up for dissapointment.

Thanks Maximus, as I said, I'll work on $20K and see what happens. Got the kay's wrong, by the way, it's just a shade over 66,000.

Cheers and Happy New Year to all!
