I just about had my mind made up to go with Bilstein digressives for the XRT when I came upon this,

Koni FSD next gen shocks

In short, a claimed shock technology that operates in an extra dimension; a high rate digressive shock that switches to ultra low rate progressive operation depending on the frequency of operation of the system. Sounds perfect...well that is the theory and or the marketing hype...

Of course, even if the theory is correct, quality will often determine how the system operates in actuality.

Does anyone have any idea of how good these units are and if they are available for the XR6T/F6 ? (They are seemingly available for the VE.

Regards,

aa

The only ones that I know about are the adjustable reds (which are still a damn good shock if adjusted correctly). I bought mine (front reds) about 2 months back and was told these are the only ones available. The yellows are adjustable from the top without compressing the shock to adjust it, but these are not offered due to the ECU being above the passenger side shock.

The new ones have 2 circlip grooves (an upper one for the BA- shorter spring) and a bottom one for the BF.

Cost is $650 for the pair....money well spent IMO.

If you go much more stiff than std springs however, they will need to be re-valved at a cost of about $150. These shocks outlive the life of the car, so once in and adjusted, focus can then be put into enjoying the ride and the rest of the car.

From our experience at work, the FSDs are a comfort shock guys. Good for blokes that have had back operations and don't like a firm ride. We had a customer with an Astra Turbo request them, he returned them fairly quickly after realising that the car felt like driving a matress down the road! :beerchug:

I would definately agree with Smoke about the Reds, these are the shock we recommend and fit a set almost 3 times a week. We have just put the finishing touches on our own design of Koni Yellow Adjustable coil overs for the FG - pics soon!

I'm intersted in these Koni Yellows.

Are they are a full coilover unit with spring included, or are they shock only to work with my existing King Springs on my FG XR6T.

Koni yellows are just dampers not coilovers. From memory bump And rebound is adjusted together in car by accessing top of damper . On the falcon you could adjust front in car but rear would be a problem

edit what a dunce just read the rest of pats MSG ..... What spring rates will be available mate?
