AFR wise I agree with mr bean... lots of fuel is just a safety thing with many different views to what is optimum... Ive leaned turbo motors into the 13s on a bar or so of boost and as long as knock is closely monitored and controlled, its safe.

There are some good knock detecting kits around if you look for them... knock box was a good one but I think its no longer available.

wolfems are advertising knock boxes on there website, and have only just started doing this. The top of the wazza setup is around $1300. The cheapy is about $800 iirc.

The sensors are only $30ish... :buttrock:

Awesome, I'll check them out :buttrock:

Macka, sounds like you could re-set injector scale. Either work out the formular for those injectors ( but as your fuel pressure is changing that can be tricky ) or just keep adjusting the scale ( up/down ) until you get a happy medium.

I havnt used that reg so can't comment, but I would, as a test, take it off and just use the stock reg... it should be fine and wont add in heaps of fuel presure like the vortec reg is doing.

Your ecu should do the fuel adjusting, not the reg. Big regs are great when you start to run low on presure but that's a much higher power level than where you want to start off at.

Cheers

Chris

Definately get rid of the 12 to 1 vortech reg, its not needed and you wont get a proper fuel map plus the 12:1 reg wont allow accurate tuning. Just get a 1 to 1 reg and tune from there. Whether its 11:1 or 13:1 a/f ratio wont big deal below the 10psi mark. Keep max timing at max boost around 20 degrees and all should be safe.

Thanks again guy's for all your help I really apppreciate it. Fuel reg is coming off Saturday. Where can I find the formulae for working out the correct scale for these injectors. And I'll certainly be looking into the knock boxes as well could be cheap insurance
