Name: Weather Man

Genre: Comedy

Director: Gore Verbinski

Actors:Nicholas Cage, Michael Caine

Score out of 10: 7

Your opinion:

Typical deep thought provoking movie by Nick almost a narrative. The battles in his life of success as a weather man vs the cost to his family and personal life. Definately some funny bits here and there. Worth watching but not a movie I would need to see again.

Name: Batman Begins

Genre: Action/Drama

Director: Christopher Nolan

Actors: Micheal Caine, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman

Score out of 10: 7/10

Your opinion: Quite an interesting movie, a bit more dark and brooding than any of the other Batman's and probably more than most 'current' Hollywood features. Good special effects without being over the top.

Good villains, especially the Scarecrow. Worked well as a movie, though quite long. Took a while (1/2 hour) to get going but at least 1 hr 45 minutes left. Reccomended for attentive people, but not for kids, not in respect to any violence but more the overall gothic theme of the movie.

Name: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Genre: Thar Be Pirates

Director: Gore Verbinski

Actors: Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom

Score out of 10: 6/10

Your opinion: Long and Incomplete. 150minutes for half the movie, irritating.

Fun movie, quite camp. Johnny Depp plays the mincing queer to a tee. Special effects are over the top, but then again, the main villain is modelled on Cthulhu.

Did seem to drag on a bit too much for my liking, though there is enough sardonic wit, boom crash flashiness and Keira Knightley to keep most of us happy.

Kid friendly kind of movie, as it is primarily aimed for them, though most people should at least enjoy it, though will probably come away a bit jaded of the whole 'Hollywood Experience'.

Score out of 10: -1

Your opinion:

if you enjoy an entire script of people bursting into song and dance this could be for you. I think Hello Dolly leaves this one for dead. I found it to be long and boring without a connective plot. The characters had issues far beyond the struggling actor, be it aids, addictions, sexuality etc.

dissapointing as far as the director is concerned he has previously done MRS. DOUBTFIRE, HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE.

I was tempted to do the dvd shop a favour and throw it out the window
