Harves Member 20 Member For: 21y 11m 16d Posted 20/12/07 03:23 AM Share Posted 20/12/07 03:23 AM Hay, My Old AU xr8 was doing the same thing when I first brought it so I took it back to ford to fix. They told me nothing was wrong with it until I took the manager for a drive and showed him. After replacing the battery, resetting the computer and changing the trans oil they could not fix it. I did a bit of googling and found out that in light takeoff's or light load's, the gearbox is designed to not change back to 1st when taking off, instead staying in 2nd to save fuel econmy!. My ford service agent did not realise this even though the AU had been out for 5 years!.Not sure if its related or even in the BA-BF's. I havn't noticed it in my Turbo.Cheers, Harves. Does it do it in reverse too? Does it delay engagement into 1st & reverse? Usually 2nd gear is the first to slip with these boxes.

DavidI dont think its taking off in 2nd as I have taken off in Performance mode and then shifted and its gone into 2nd then..Stall is standard aswell..
