DEFINITELY DONT ring them up and ask. They'll say no.. If you were in Perth I could give u 5 places without any dramas. If your building a "track" car for a certain class (say standard exhaust LOL) and you pay them in cash, I dont see any problemsAs for gutting the cat, IMHO why waste a perfectly "good" product.Your better off going to one of the exhaust places and buying a 3-4" straight thru section and weld some flanges on it. That way if you do have to pass inspection you can always bolt your cat back in Really doesnt cost very much and dare I say, it will flow better than a punched out cat! Of course if the exhaust has less restrictions (without going overboard with 5" straight thru pipe!) its going to make more power. Make the engine breath and your half way there.I had straight thru 3" exhaust on the wrx. When you start popping out flames other cars back off very quickly LOL. Tunnel runs are a LOT of fun though. It was loud, I could smell the fuel and I passed the pits 3 times with it. So much for massive fines eh Edited 18/12/07 01:40 PM by Mat

Ill hit and exhaust place up to see if they will make me a pipe with flanges. They mite get a bit dodgy on that to though????

Its not my fault they stopped selling leaded.I haven't heard of anyone being busted yet but if they smell it and get suspicious they can always send you to an inspection place, at least they can in NSW, not sure where you're from.Just get a high flow cat and weld it on to the stock exhaust, don't be so cheap.
