On an XR6T forum, the 8 are great but so yesterday, and cost more to extract power etc etc, weigh more, so cost more to get handling, braking and performance ets etc.I do not understand.ScottyPS you could save thousands and buy a Cordia. Guest Wingnut Guests Posted 18/12/07 04:10 AM Share Posted 18/12/07 04:10 AM (edited) I have had a couple of 8s VX clubby and VS SS nothing comparable to what there is today but I did love hearing the thing wind up. In saying that if I was after a true muscle car I would buy and old Camaro or Cuda or even Mustang with a nice 400+ c/I donk. Now that's a weekend car. As for spending 15k on a newer car, I dont see being able to extarct as much power out of an 8 as you would the 6. What kind of forced induction kit could 15k buy you these days? I dont just mean parts that must include tuning, labor and anything else that would be part of a drive in drive out package. I have 500+hp (300rwkw) and barely spent 7k. I spend another 5k getting my bottom end done and I can wind it up to about 700hp (400+rwkw) and ill still have change.I guess im just addicted to turbo charged cars and I dont think 15k is enough coin to invest into a blown V8. If it was im sure more of us would be doing it. Please correct me if im wrong. DesFlurane Member 351 Member For: 19y 12d Gender: Male Posted 18/12/07 04:26 AM Share Posted 18/12/07 04:26 AM I agree with all this.15k will get you a Bluepower Kenne Bell with 380rwkw. But nothing else. The brakes and suspension will all need upgrading, big style.15 is not enough for a blown V8, done properly ie safe to drive quickly.Go the 6T, 15 will get you a complete car. Now that's a weekend car. Damn straight. I used to have a 70 Mustang fastback with a big hp 351 4v Clevo. Most fun I ever had in a car. If you want to go really fast cheaply buy an xr6t. If you want to go slower, spend more money but have more fun go the blown xr8 or an old school muscle car. You'l also make a better noise. Just my 2 cents Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/40667-6t-or-8s/page/3/#findComment-610444 Share on other sites
