Guest Guests Posted 18/12/07 10:18 AM Share Posted 18/12/07 10:18 AM Cheers. Quite a change but really nice car.On topic, I think the guys here are right. A blown V8 in a classic such as a mustang etc would be ideal. $15k of mods on a T or Phoon and you do get the complete package.Nice problem to have choosing. And no S/C Pat. It will remain a stockieHow about a built blown Boss (Hybrid) in a 67 fastback topped with a 2.8L KB $15,ooo on a Boss will get you an all round package aswell, 35o-4oorwkw from a non intercooled KB kit & a set of Brembo's. Suspension is sorted allready. whats so good about kenne belle blowers? intercooled Vortechs (which are a proven reliable supercharger) make the same power and are much more common in drive in drive out applocations. All jokes aside though if you chose either a modded turbo or v8 you would have an awesome car!Cheers Alf

Guest Guests Posted 18/12/07 10:51 PM Share Posted 18/12/07 10:51 PM I agree with all this.15k will get you a Bluepower Kenne Bell with 380rwkw. But nothing else. The brakes and suspension will all need upgrading, big style.15 is not enough for a blown V8, done properly ie safe to drive quickly.Go the 6T, 15 will get you a complete car.The non intercooled kit is a shade under 1ok fitted I think, it'll make a comfortable 35o-4oorwkw. Above that I'd suggest an intercooled kit, these kits are so under stressed its not funny hence why a cooler isn't required till near 4oorwkw. The beauty about these kits is that if you buy the base kit you only need to fit the cooler and crank the boost up, the 2.6L head unit has supported well over 5oorwkw.So BPR KB kit $1o,ooo Brembo 6/4 pot kit $55oo & whiteline sway bars $35o. Should have yourself a pretty wicked ride.I know a couple of members with blown boss V8,s. 15k will blow it but like everyone said, its not complete.Sure the v8 noise is tough but with a bolt on blower kit for 15k,you will surely get your arse handed to you buy less powerful XR6T,s.I would rather spend 15k on a T and have a car that can brake, handle and make a healthy 400rwkw,s easy.Willing to put your money where your mouth is. I'll bet good money that a 4oorwkw s/c boss will smoke a 4oorwkw T.

Im transplanting the whole electircs, ICC and all. SHould be a fun project. The MWS blowers are capa kit's, TOTAL RIPOFFS. If you ever want a capa kit let me know and ill put one together for 3/4 of the price with much much better materials. The KB blower's are a completely different animal, how about max tqe at 2ooorpm and being able to hole it till the limiter. Bluepower ran a 1o.6 on 9lb's through a stock 29o with their intercooled kit. They ran a 1o.1 with 7lb's and a 5o shot of gas.My mistake Dagabond I ment to say a standard xr8/GT bottom end would not reliably hold 480rwkw.Time will tell mate, the stock 29o in the BPR ute has seen 5oorwkw on more than a few occasions and has made 2o odd passes down the strip and is still alive and kicking not to mention it's a DD.
