Gday lads, thanks for the nice words. Thanks for the warm welcome and Gday Ryan.

Went out today and picked up some dinosaur oil (mineral) Castrol GTX3 15/40 to do its first change. Intend to do this at 1500klms and then at 7500 and 15000 and then change to synthetic from then.

Just a quick question on something I noticed today : at steady cruise water temp is running at about 1/3 however after idling or slow traffic will move to 1/2 after a few minutes. Has not gone over half at all however. Just wanted to know if this is normal for the F6 ?

First mod will be sway bars, just investigating sizing / adjustability options at the moment.

your temp is about right, that dirty big turbo hanging off the side of your engine warms thigs up pretty quickly when not going anywhere, its normal, and its pretty hard to get the temp over half in a stock car too, mines only ever been on the other side of half after it was modified and driven really hard.

Great stuff Bigmat.....the earthquake didnt affect you I hope.

Those are awesome plates mate.

Thanks, I had a list of about 100 different plates to choose from while I was waiting for delivery of the car but that one was just right.

I was surprised when it hadn't been snaffled up already....

The earth quake, well I have never been in anything scarier, it is not a nice feeling watching the hallway in your house move up down and sideways about 3 feet (while you are standing in it)

I have a video Taken at my wifes work, (a liquor store), it's of the first 5 seconds but with about 5 different camera angles before power went off I might have to youtube it if she gives me the green light...

Mind you if I don't tell her... nah can't do that.... She won't buy me any more go fast bit's for the F6....

I actually checked the car before I checked with my wife ( don't tell her aye.....). to find out how she was, as she was still at work.

A big 7 foot high freestanding cupboard walked itself across the floor and was leaning on the car, but luckily no damage.. Built Ford tough....

Then drove to pick my wife up and headed to high ground waiting for the Tsunami that never came.

Couldn't have been in a faster getaway car......

Right now lock them away in your garages and don't touch them for the next 20 years!!
I would like to but, I enjoy driving it too much....

You haven't got a spare $68K NZD for another one to put into storage for me to have do you.???..

Wheres that lotto ticket...

Hey Rob, the white RSpec looks awesome. They are a great car - enjoyed your trip highlights, it's great having partners that are into the car too!

I've followed yr lead on the oil change, just done mine at 2200k's (oil was quite dark when draining out the last 4L) - are you doing filter too at 1500?

Re: Water temp. From my limited experience - my last XR6T used to heat up to 1/2 way if I'd been driving hard then stop (even after a 3min idle down) and driving into traffic on hot days would do it, but only after driving alot b4 hand. My new F6 is also running about 1/3, then gets up to 1/2 after stopping (following 3min idle down). It seems pretty normal from my last two cars anyway - I was enquiring about the same thing and 3 different service mechanics said it was absolutely normal around 1/2 way is normal temp range.
