Guest Guests Posted 17/12/07 10:10 AM Share Posted 17/12/07 10:10 AM I got fobbed off as well... Their customer service needs dramatic improvement if they wanna keep selling these clutches because we all know the performance of them isn't going to get everyone excited. Did everyone go through Adelaide Clutch Service???

Guest Guests Posted 17/12/07 10:42 AM Share Posted 17/12/07 10:42 AM My car was stationary when it happened luckily... otherwise it would have done lots more damage if it was under load. I actually had the 'Motorsport' clutch which has chromoly plates, strengthened pressure plate cover and re-enforced straps but it looks like it was one of the straps that let go first... then the rest was torn into pieces on the drive home My first Xtreme clutch was a normal cerametallic version like you have and when that came out it had fractures all through the plates and the buttons were completely worn away just like yours. They stick like to a blanket when they're working properly but they're still a crappy drive and they don't last. Beware!!! Anyone thinking of buying one of these clutches... Think again! Simon runs his phoon AP clutch with ceramic plates at over 500RWkws! and the pedal is great. Anyone including your grandmother could drive it.I saw Brendons twin plate that he got from the wog and its very well made also but you would have to ask him how it goes when you sidestep it @ 4,500rpm.The good thing with the Phoon clutch is you only need to depress the pedal 1” when changing. Great for quick changes like Ben has shown.Everyone I now with a MW clutch complain about a stiff pedal and shuddering.PHOON CLUTCH if the money is there. As for side stepping the wog clutch at high RPM.....this is the ONLY thing I don't like about it. I'm not sure about alot of people who have T56's, but I like to flatshift!! The std single plate actually loved it changing into 2nd and 3rd with ~ 230 - 250 rwkw in a dead stright line (didn't slip and layed good strips with 20's), however the new clutch now causes axle tramp and tends to make a squeeling type noise and that's with ~ 275 rwkw's. If done on a slight bend it doesn't tramp but whips out quick (basically asking for trouble). So I'm not sure what the story is there and havn't spoke to anyone about it. Apart from that the clutch is fantastic.

Phoon clutch. Let this be a lesson, sometimes you should just wait that little bit longer, the clutch is awesome. On an upside I now have a very nice? purple piece of "garden art".
