Hey guys.

Yesterday we pulled the tub of my ute (what a stuff around that is) and installed a Walbro Gss341 Fuel Pump. Now we tested everything without the tub on.. all was fine.. no surging.. started fine. After we put the tub on and I went to go home it started being a *beep* to start... sometimes taking 5 + seconds to start... but once its going it doesn't effect the performance of the ute at all.. just a pain in the ass to start... any of you guys had the same problem or know what it could be?

cheers.

BB

any chance you have pinched a fuel line putting the tub back on? So the pump is taking longer to get fuel pressure to the rail?

You should be able to hear the Walbro whine a little when you first turn the key on before it starts?

a mate and I were going to do this during Jan.

Its a couple hour job isn't it?

Is it a matter of just taking out the tub liner and then you have access to the fuel tank?

when I had my XR it became hard to start after the walbro install. Especially if I had just driven it, stopped for a little while. Turns out it just needed a little extra time to build enough pressure or something, because if I turned the car to 'on' and let it sit for 10 or so seconds it would pretty much crank over straight away.

See how that goes, and if it's still an issue.. I dunno!

The pump primes as per normal. Is difficult to start and the pump is louder than 2 other utes I have heard with the same pump. But apparently its almost as loud as ENVY-T :stirthepot:

Couple of hours if beers are not consumed and you don't stuff around.. the WHOLE tub has to be removed not just the liner.

Tried... didn't work... it takes atleast 5 seconds to start but every now and then it will take longer to start regardless of whether its hot or cold...

any one else got any ideas... oh yeh.. I was running 3/4 a tank of petrol so that shouldn't be the reason why..

What hose did you use

Full braided teflon..... made up at enzed.

EXACTLY the same as a mate is using in his ute with no dramas what so ever, after he had issues with the Gates submersable high pressure fuel hose splitting :stirthepot:
