I know this is abit late but to fix it u have to format your ps3. I had the same problem and lost everything. u do it through options menu.it couldnt read dvds or nothing even usb. since then its been all sweet.

ah yes, heard that too, BUT all the people claiming to have fixed it by reformatting DIDN'T get the 81000154(?that's from memory) fault code.

Anyone who did get fault code and tried reformatting got nowhere.

I also figured while it was still under warranty to just get it fixed as it should be.
