12 December 2007

MELBOURNE hot-tuner Walkinshaw Performance has announced an exclusive Stage 2 supercharger kit that extracts 422kW at 6000rpm and no less than 728Nm at 4250rpm of torque from HSV's LS2 V8.

Also applicable to Holden's 6.0-litre L98 V8, the WP blower's fitted unit price is $15,500, before the likes of exhaust, cold air-intake and engine calibration systems from the WL product catalogue are considered.

Developed by WP's technology partner Harrop Engineering, the kit features a unique HH122 Walkinshaw housing wrapped around Eaton internals, a WP supercharger inlet manifold and drive system, high-flow fuel injectors and an optional air-to-water intercooler.

It produces 422kW/728Nm with 9.5 to 10psi of boost and comes with a 12-month/20,000km parts and labour warranty.

WP says more performance is available on a "let's discuss" basis at any of its inter/national offices, including newly-appointed Victorian representative, Autotechnique in Knoxfield.

Sounds great, hopefully it lives up to predicted specs. All this performance tuning leads to far more superior vechiles produced by manufacturers, so I say bring it, should be awesome.

Are those KW figures RWKW or homoKW readings?

All jokes aside, v8's are pretty deadly with forced induction :spoton:

so its about 90+ grand including the car to produce that sort of power

Grats.

That would be at the engine also, as everything with Expensive Daewoo is quoted by the highest possible figure.

That torque blows

how much rwkw would $15.5k give a stock Phoon or XR6T, if tuned safely and with quality mods??? a lot more than 422fwkw im guessing hahaha

its about that to get a late model T/phoon to that at the rears, with ALOT more torque

And you're not spending 80 on just the car, lol

im pretty sure that a 6l V8 running 10lb of boost would make that power at the wheel not engine.

VE SS's are under 50k

our cars are sweet but a 4l turbo six cant really compare to a blown 6L v8 although many of us like to think they can

but I do think that kit is a bit expensive im sure there is TT kits that are cheaper
