Glad you put these picks up as I can use them as evidence. I have the Sports Wheel as pictured but the dealer was adamant it was the Momo. I was charged the Momo price. Hmmmm ... Let me see ... What will I get ... Mud Spats ... XR Mats !! :-)

l thought there was only one steering wheel option, the momo. We have the wheel in the above pics which l understand to be the momo. Find it very confortable, l would pay the price to have it again.

So whats with two wheel options, its the first l have heard of it?

Wouldn't be hard to prove without the photo. The momo wheel in the Ford brochure clearly says 'MOMO' on the bottom section of the wheel B)

It's not in the brochures, but obviously exists - unless it's an extremely good paintshop job. My dealer was given the photo by someone else, without the FordForums tag (shame on you) and showed it to me yesterday. He's trying to source it.

Heres the difference between the three:

Standard - Leather clad, all one colour, your basic stock wheel

Momo - Same shape and size as standard, just with perforated coloured leather and a "MOMO" branding

Sports - Smaller wheel, slightly better control, moulded grips and (I think) slightly different shades of grey

Don't bother with the momo, its just a jazzed up standard. If you dont like the stock wheel, opt for the sports.

Excellent, thanks heaps. It's looking like the 'Sports'.

When we ordered the car l had a look at an XR they had on the lot which had what the salesman said was the Momo. Decided to order one and it appeared on the order paperwork as a Momo at $631. Car arrived with the same wheel as we seen on the lot (and as in the above photos)

Just looked on the delivery invoice and its now called a sports steering wheel but shown at the same price. l had noticed that it didnt have momo on it anywhere as the momo in our TS50 did.

Has anyone actually seen the Momo on an XR? Does it exist or are sale people just calling it that because in the AU it was actually a Momo??

HEY mondie

yes there definately is two wheel options!

the momo has colours on the wheel also, as well as branding.!

if it looks like the one in the photo, you definately have the sports wheel not the momo.

not sure about the price difference though, you should check with a dealer to make sure you didnt pay too much, as I know the momo is the more expensive wheel.

make em give ya somet6hing for free!! :D

Nope there is definitely a momo. I think esky on ff put up some pictures with his. From memory it had red inserts. The sports wheel is the best option IMO. By the way Simon my brother absolutely loves the TS. He gets more looks than a blonde with boob job :)

This is the momo wheel pictured DSCN0160.jpg and in blue 94918_166.jpg

This is also a quote from rob herrod who did the Xr6t pace cars for the last few rounds of the v8 supercars

I have driven with the MOMO and the sports wheels .When we built the Monroe saftey and course cars for the touring car events. In my opinion the sports wheel kills the MOMO for comfort and hand grip.I drove both of the cars for quite some kms,the MOMO made my hand hurt, yet the sports wheel felt great and I thought looked better

Cheers

Thanks for the info Dave.

So there is a Momo, l am glad l ended up with the sports and not the Momo as it doesnt look as comfortable, as Rob herrod noted. Will have to look into the price difference though with the dealer.

Great to hear John's loving the car, how could you not??
