Well, running into the back of a parked car doesn't leave much room for apportioning blame....

Turbo6man, Yor post implys you know more than us about the circumstances of the collision. care to ellaborate?

FWIW when 2 or more cars collide it is almost NEVER an accident....

richdave> According to the report on Fordforums, if you read all posts in the thread, you will see that the turbo went up the back of a parked vehicle.

I agree entirely that when two or more cars collide it is not an "accident", unless caused by a mechanical failure. An accident is like when you are driving along the road doing everything by the book and a tree falls on your roof. Anything else is simply a collision and is caused by driver error.

Well I guess I should confess!!! haha this is the first I've heard of all this. Yes I stacked my XR6T thursday last thursday. It wasn't a parked pannel van, a moving mitsubishi van. Was in peek hour traffic and I was going about 52klm/hr, wasn't watching the car in front of the van cos it's kinda hard to see around, long story short cars stopped on the other side of a hill thing, van slams on the brakes, so did I, but didn't stop in time. So thanks to the guys who didn't jump to conclusions, these things happen to someone somewhere everyday.

Oh by the way it's not written off. far from it. needs new bonnet, passenger front guard, passenger side headlamp, radiator, radiator support pannels, and bumper. only top half of the bumper got hit, so fog lights, intercooler are all okay.

Its clowns like this that are going to have us all paying 3k to insure our cars within 12 months, and a stigma attached to an XR6T owner not unlike that which seems to go with the WRX.

Perhaps I missed something...or that info was posted after I visited? Either way, thanks for the update :)

Glad to hear it wasn't as serious as first thought :) Cars can be fixed, people often can't so glad you're OK too.
