Vazard Member 8 Member For: 17y 8m 1d Gender: Male Posted 05/12/07 05:34 AM Share Posted 05/12/07 05:34 AM Hi guys,Long time listener, first time caller.Ive been reading these forums for quite a while now and its almost time to take the plunge. What I've been wanting to get for a long time isBF Mk II XR6 TurboAutoOctaneLeatherPremium Sound (standard now)Now I was originally going to wait for the orion but the fact that the orion will be near 45k just for base and things like auto, leather, premium sound (if that's an option) will probably tally up to over 50k which is just too much.Ive been quoted 38k for the above BFII through novated lease.First of all I think that's a pretty good price, do novated lease companys get better deals because when I got a quote through the ford dealer it was more around 45k.Second how much will the price drop from here, when runout time hits closer to orion I know it will be alot cheaper but will it really be worth the wait?Unless I save another 2-3k+ then id rather just get it now. (My insurance + rego is due on my other car)Also with novated lease I presume the car is yours to do as you please (ie mod it)? Thanks all for the help,Stewe

Where do you live? It also depends on the leasing company in regards to mods
Twisty Member 182 Member For: 17y 5m 14d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 05/12/07 08:23 AM Share Posted 05/12/07 08:23 AM I am also in the same boat. Not with the noveated lease, but weighing up whether I should buy now, or wait for a runout special once Orion is released.Senna, any idea on how much a BF will be once the Orion is released, I realise this is probably a how long is a piece of string type question, but a ballpark figure would be much appreciated. Also, once the Orion is released, I assume that all BF orders would be from existing stock, therefore options and colour would be whatever is available rather than an actual choice? Thanks. Vazard Member 8 Member For: 17y 8m 1d Gender: Male Posted 05/12/07 09:40 AM Author Share Posted 05/12/07 09:40 AM I looked a bit closer and yes it is excluding GST.But since it calculates the GST of the total lease wouldnt it still work out fairly cheap? It says the price ex GST then says "GST saved on purchase price: $3726"Then at the total costs it has:GST Payable on Lease and Running Cost: $1661Less Input Tax Credits Available: ($1661)GST on Post Tax Deduction: $745The company is NLC. (http://www.nlc.com.au) and I live in Cranbourne, VictoriaI can post up the rest of the details on the lease quote if its useful? Thanks for the replies. Sutho Member 2 Member For: 16y 11m 25d Location: Geelong Posted 05/12/07 11:33 PM Share Posted 05/12/07 11:33 PM Morning Vazard and boys,On a lease of any kind, the financier ( a company) owns the vehicle and is able to claim the GST. Therefore the lessee finances the GST free price of the vehicle, and pays GST on the payments and the residual value. As for mods, remember the financier owns the vehicle, and the lessees responsible for maintaining it in a roadworthy condition. Before doing any mods check with the finance co.As for the price of Orion when it arrives, I don't think it will be much dearer than current BF pricing. Remember, Ford will have to sell it against Holden. How much more would you pay for a ford?

The quote I got was pretty mucht eh same as yours as I bought mine through novated lease as well. $38k or thereabouts sounds pretty much on par, and I believe the auto's are a little more coin as well, so sounds like a good quote. The octane looks HOT on the new model as well I also toyed with waiting for the orion, I ended up going with a november build for 3 reasons:1: Price on a new BFMK2 is pretty damn good atm.2: I am too impatient to wait until next year3: Being a new model, I am anticipating issues, especially since there is a new engine and everything. I would rather have a final model of a car, like the BFMK2 which has been refined and refined, less problems If you want a pic of the new model in octane give me a yell and ill swing you a few snaps!Cheers
MonoRail Member 29 Member For: 17y 2m 10d Posted 07/12/07 07:02 AM Share Posted 07/12/07 07:02 AM That sounds like a very good deal, full retail would end up around the $52,400 mark so you're saving like over $14k which is closing in on employee pricing levels.I bought BFII cause I didn't think I was gonna get the leather and auto for the price I was willing to pay with Orion when it rolls around next year. If these soughta options aren't a essential, then I would personally wait for the Orion since it would most likely have better everything else compared to BFII except for the initial bugs. Depends on what you like.
