Gota say that the terry feels sluggish at this point compare to the V slightly modded XR6T.

The kids love it, the wife is very impressed and I just know with a tune from C&V in a couple of weeks time (plus injectors, bung removal and gapped plugs), it will be a top family performace ride.

l can assure you the de-bung makes a massive difference to the throttle response, it alone is a great mod that does not harm warranty, except on the exhaust. l will be watchng with interest how your TT responds to mods, l have been resisting the temptation for a while now!

Have had my TT for about 14 months now and I really do my my XR6T. It was only slightly modded (250rwkw) and the TT is stock apart from debunged. It really does perform like a slug in comparison and yes, I was spoilt a little with the bit of extra power in the XR6T. The TT handles like a big woman but it does stop well. What I should do is edit the TT however, the new lease company would have my ass for that so I will have to wait another 22 months before the lease is up.

I do a lot of km on the highway and I am currently returning 13.4 lt/100 km average over the life of the car so far. In the XR6T it was 11.7 over its 125,000 life so it is a bit thirstier. I do drive it like a b@stard, it is just the highway driving that keeps the fuel consumption down. I suspect that if I did all city driving, I would be hitting around 19km/100.

Love all the spots to store the crap, so much better than the XR6T. Don't like the auto that much, but I am biased, I have never liked autos. Having said that, it is certainly the best auto I have come across though.

Next car for me will probably be an XR6T (provided they still have a snail on them).

Even in my T, which basically is just edited to 11psi with exhaust and air box, I find if I flash it back to factory settings I last for about 2km and can't stand the lack of boost, feels like a slug so I quickly reflash back to my favourite tune.

So I presume a TT with some minor mods would have the same effect, we all know a TT will be slower with the same mods as a T (power to weight) but from what I'm reading it does seem that its not as noticeable from the seat of the pants point of view due to lower final drive perhaps?

I find an average fuel consumption of 13.4 l/100 quite reasonable as I would be hard pressed to get that from my current T, lowest I get is about mid 11's when travelling on a highway trip at speed limits (plus a bit), but at home is more like 16.5.

Handling is not a big issue here as long as there's not too much body roll as some of the 4WD's Ive had in the past were woefull to the point of getting sea sick :blink: , usually does'nt matter what I drive, I tend to take corners faster than Mr average anyways, just love the challenge. :3gears:

Yes, I suppose I am being a bit unfair in that I am expecting sports car performance from a SUV. If I had gone from a standard XR6T to a standard TT, it would probably have been a slight difference however, it is the noticeable difference that disappoints me. I should have known better or simply edited the TT.

Overall, it is a great car and I think it is good value for money.

As for the handling, yes, there is body roll but nothing like you would expect of a car its size, weight and height. It is not poor in that regard, it is just nowhere near as sharp as the XR6T, nor would you expect it to be!

Given your situation of too many toys in the garage, it seems quite a logical choice to go for, provided you get the edit with it.

I get 19l/100km in both the F6 and the TTG, but they are both driven in the city and hard, my wife is a lead foot and gets 15's.

During our Qld road trip, we averaged 12.1l/100 for the whole trip, including many overtakes, but a lot on cruise control.

As for the power, The F6 is quicker, but it is not until you are alongside other sports cars, that you realise how quick the TT are.

You usually get a holeshot as the launch very quickly and will beat most cars to 60km/h. I blew away an Aston Martin Vantage 3 lights in a row.

Yes he was faster, but I got 3 car lengths off the mark and this is hard to claw back.

How abouy a white Terry T with black 22's

Barry Blue -cheers for the photo. It does look really sweet ! Not sure I can stretch the budget to 22's at this point but the black on white is a winner.

What wheels are they ? The only wheels that I have found that I like and still are insurable are Avanti Sobatages - they do look a lot like the ones on your machine.

Do these 22's have the correct laod rating for the Terry ? What tyres are you running ? Again does not seems to be a great choice of wheels for a Terry in 20's with a 104V load/speed rating.

Alos if it is not a rude question how much were the 22's and where did you get them from.

I will let you. I am booked in on the 22nd December. So it will be some time after then. I will be on Holidays on the mid north coast of NSw - so will make the trak down to Sydney for the day to get thr Job done. Looking forward to the power increase.
