Springs are Kings super lows. I dealt directly with kings and they told me the heights for each set before I ordered and it worked out cheaper than ordering through places like Ripco, Autoharm and Autoho etc etc. They delivered to my door within 2 days aswell.

The guys were easy to deal with and will ship from whatever office you need in each state.

Cheers

Jacob

Would love to get a hard lid but I have 2 dogs and 2 bikes that go in the back regularly. Will prob get one soon anyways.

How much did it end up costing for springs? whats the height from centre of wheel to wheel arches? is the for-801's what you have in the back?

this is what I got told from king springs

FOR-803's will lower approx 30mm

FOR-802 will lower approx 45mm

FOR-801 will lower approx 60mm

I have 801's in my ute and they dont drop that much... still sits just on tyre level.

its a good height im happy with it, but it doesnt have that "ultra-low" look. seems most of the really low ones are just reset leafs and custom cut springs.

King springs make springs to size (full custom) but dont tell them their going on a street car. its like an extra $20 for coils.

to the thread starter: nice lookin toy, ditch the flaps and MAYBE the stripes wont look as cheap...

Yeah I just got some front coils and 801s for the rear cept I think they stuffed up cos one spring is marked FOR800/100 and the other is FOR800/85. Put the fronts in and it droped about 15mm kings reckoned it would drop 30mm and they reckon the rears should drop 60mm so will see when I stick em in. Might just put in a spacer and chop a bit off the fronts if its still not low enough, fronts still have a bit left before the spings arnt captive anymore...

Im not sure if this is true but I bought some springs off my local suspension guys and they lowered my ute about 20mm which is nice but not low enough for me, so I went back to them and asked about going lower and they told me that if I was to go any lower I would start breaking ball joints and stuff?

I want to be able to have a hint of tyre in the guard at the front and the back level to that.

Do you think it would be fine to shave about 10mm of the top of the spring?

You just have to take a little bit at a time, its not like 10mm off the spring will lower it 10mm. I measured the standard spring and the lowered one and the lowered one was 45mm shorter but only lowered the ute about 15mm because the spring is a stronger rate spring. Im not sure about breaking stuff because there is alot of xr's gettin around with drops more than 20mm. Just have to make sure that the spring is still tight in the strut after the cut so it doesnt flop around when there is no weight on the spring. Plus the spring will be softer because it has less coils to hold the same weight.
