hi guy's,

I have been driving my rspec typhoon around and decided to have some fun in the wet with the traction control off but the car seems to be axle tramping and the wheels are bouncing bad. is it that the tyre rubber is just to good having only done 1500 km's or is there something more sinister behind it. do all f6's do this or is it just my car. I can understand it happening in a ute but in my sedan?

any suggestions or answers?

I seem to remember seeing that mal wood had a kit to stop it for the utes, but can't for the life of me find it. have a look and maybe see if they have a kit for the sedans?

unsure as to what causes it though

Dan

you need to keep the boot in more! I know it sounds like I'm taking the piss, but the tyres are trying to grip and the power is just enough to turn them. Keep your foot planted and it will be ok, the control blade suspension does a good job of keeping the tyres flat on the road...

try me4ssing around with your tyre pressures. changing mine to 38psi reduced it a fair bit..

new shocks with a higher bound or rebound rate (cant remember which) are a solution I read about on this forum somewhere.

not sure that staying into the gas is the best idea, I would be more inclined to let off a bit.

true higher tyre pressures will help, but I find the axle tramp in mine goes away when I pour on the power, as the tyres have no chance of gripping, which is what is making the car axle tramp

With the stock XR6T clutch I used to flat shift into second in a straight line and would lay rubber, now with a twin plate organic clutch similar to the F6 unit I seem to get axle tramp when flat shifting in a straight line.

Never get it in the wet, like senna said just give it more gas straight up. Once it starts it can just keep tramping.

My F6 has a little bit of tramp, but 40psi and Koni shoks have reduced it heaps.

As the Rspec already has good shocks, I would up the pressure in the tyres as Ford seem to think 30psi is normal.

Also make sure you turn the traction control off if you want to have fun as it can also increase tramp

I vote for planting it. Just like senna said, it's just breaking the traction limits but it doesn't have enough power to spin the wheels properly. It's like trying to do a burnout in a car that doesn't have enough power to spin the wheels.

But a typhoon in the wet should have non of those problems
