Hey All

Was wondering how much power can be made on an XR6T with the standard exhaust system.

Also, has anyone measured the maximum backpressure (at the o2 sensor) at a standard or modified power level?

Trying to decide whether standard system will be good enough for a ~240 rwkw setup or if it needs upgrading.

cheers

ps.

dude, you will get 240 easy, take the centre muffler out and replace it with straight pipe for a bit of sound and slightly better flow, if you want, put in a better cat too, this ids the biggest restriction, but you will crack 240rwkw easy as :spoton:

The exhaust system can handle up to 300 + rwkw's given that you have changed the cat ofcourse....I ran 290rwkw's with only the center muffler removed.

As long as you change the Cat/Dump Setup, from there back the STD exhaust system is good for about 350rwkw.

But I'd change it before I hit that figure, just for a better note/look + its more power again

Cool thanks guys

I'm actually thinking of replacing the stocko rear muffler on my 200sx with an XR6T part for cheap (hence the low power goals lol). I'd have to come up with a 2 into 1 y-pipe though, because the stock muffler has a single pipe entry with dual exhaust tips.

Cheers
