I've come across a very cheap (free) cat back system off a GT-P. I was wondering if anyone could tell if it's possible to fit a GT-P Cat back system to an XR6T. How hard would it be to fit & is there anything I should be concerned about by way of restriction to the flow? I'm purely thinking of adding it on just for the wank factor of the quad tip, any help is would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Smylie

I can't think of anything that would stop you doing it, unless they changed things under the cars from BA - BF

You might have an issue as I seem to remember the V8's haveign 2 cats and 2 pipes from the motor.

I would think there would need to be some work from an exhaust shop, but it could be done.

Good way to score a factory quad system.

it'll will bolt straight up, the mounting points for the cat-back part of the exhaust are exactly the same from BA to BF, turbo or Boss.

Im assuming the bf gt quad setup is the same as the herrod quad setup; Ive been told they are a direct replacement.

If that's the case (which im sure it is), I have the herrod setup and the mounts are a ten minute job for any local exhaust shop. The exhaust hooks are welded to the car in the conveniant gap on the left hand side, near the fuel tank, and the mounts on the left rear muffler are already in the right location.

Just dummy fit it under the car and youll see what im on about. :spoton:
