It was all done on a private road of course.

Your right. It specifically states in the Ford warranty hand book an page 6.9.69, paragraph 12, that Ford will repair in full any portion of the drive train that fails whilst the vehicle is being used in circle work, doing doghnuts or racing. The salesman took me for a drive, drove round and round in a tight circle about three times. When I asked him why he was doing this he said, to show you the CV are good. I went Oh have these things got weak CV's, he said no its just good to know that they are OK.Looking back maybe he was checking, are f*ck it I dont know what I am trying to say, get it covered on warranty if possible. High revs may kill conrods, but hey is this not the responsibiltyn of the rev limiter to control. Oh was there oil in it?Scotty

Posted 23/11/07 10:45 AM Share Posted 23/11/07 10:45 AM I have a mate that blew the rod out of a BA NA block! It was punished, to say the least. It was a fully paid work car, with a very big national company. Ford bent over backwards to have it repaired for them. If only they knew why. In the middle of winter when the heater takes a while to heat up, our very skinny, read 6ft and 70kgs, intrepid little automotive abuser, used to drive in first gear bouncing off the limiter, until warm air blew! He said it took more than 50% of the wait out! LMAO
