Over reving is a main reason why rods bend and break. Apparently a few NA's have done this in the past.

Its not just sketchy tunes and big boost that bend/break rods... its the right foot too.

Another victim of a snapped conrod. :runaway:

If your wanting to beef up your BA, your best bet would be to invest in a BF F6 short motor from Ford. It will set you back around $2,500 delivered to your local mechanic.

hopefully the guy can shed some light on what state of tune the car was in, until then, maybe we should give him some good ideas how to fix it - like san has

you do have the atomic option, but unless you need big big power, don't spend the money!

I doing doghnuts yes circle work and then twang!!!! and I drove home with this mean knocking sound coming from the engine, turns out ive snapped a rod and f@#ked the sleeve....... :runaway:

its still odd that a car with such low power and torque compared to a stock T would snap a rod.

the car must have been punished

Compression ratio is different between them, an F6 bottom end would bring the power down even further.
