Snapped Conrods

Over reving is a main reason why rods bend and break. Apparently a few NA's have done this in the past.

Its not just sketchy tunes and big boost that bend/break rods... its the right foot too.

when it was BA, the NA and T rods were the same, now they have the typhoon bottom end

If your wanting to beef up your BA, your best bet would be to invest in a BF F6 short motor from Ford. It will set you back around $2,500 delivered to your local mechanic.

its still odd that a car with such low power and torque compared to a stock T would snap a rod.

hopefully the guy can shed some light on what state of tune the car was in, until then, maybe we should give him some good ideas how to fix it - like san has

you do have the atomic option, but unless you need big big power, don't spend the money!

yeah I wouldnt bother with atomic uless you are going with forced induction as it would be overkill on a NA.

I doing doghnuts yes circle work and then twang!!!! and I drove home with this mean knocking sound coming from the engine, turns out ive snapped a rod and f@#ked the sleeve.......

Compression ratio is different between them, an F6 bottom end would bring the power down even further.
