:tears: *sniff sniff*

I had a VL......

I also had an XC Falcon

a TE Cortina with the 250 crossflow motor that went like a shower of sh!t

and a multitude of other beasties......

That's what I get for being the only girl in my family!

My mother used to dress me in purty dresses and brush my hair and then I would go and play under the car with Dad and hand him spanners.

I think I made my Mum cry on several occasions.

She is happy I dress/act like a girl now... I just keep my car interests for talking to my Dad *wink*

Le Arte of Keeping Everyone Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

I love that saying - it makes no sense at all! How can something described as a shower of shyte be a good thing?

Great isn't it.

On topic, I don't think anyone has looked at the car when I am in it (male, 6'3", 42 years). My wife says she has people stop (both on foot and in cars) to look and point at it. Same car, and I gotta stop her wearing that boob tube.

Stop her wearing the Boob Tube and I'm sure there'll be a few more lookers.................

Incidently. Is there some trickery going on?

In the transition from KittyCatsSmack's post, to AMoffat's quote, there seems to be a spelling change to a paticular word.

An extra "r" added............

Hmmmmmmm

Maybe you could wear her boob toob AMoffat, then I'm sure you would get some stares.....

My Cortina and shower of sh*te.... it would indeed go really fast but at the same time, blow a lot of smoke, usually leave a lot of oil behind and generally make a ton of noise too..... people would wave their arms a lot, cough and swear and shake their fist :D

Damn I loved that car!

And I can assure the crowd, I have only had the one set of breasties..... but good effort LOL!

The first GTs and Monaros, Chargers etc never gained cult status - sure they became collectable, but in their era they were not cult cars.

Can't say I agree totally with you there mate, I remember the blistering wins at Bathurst of the GT's and I know in my neck of the woods (SA) in the late 60's early 70's the GT and the Monaro were the cars all testosterone filled youth wanted and lusted after. :D

But the T and the GT will both be cult cars. I only hope the T does'nt go the way of the WRX and become practically impossible to insure in a couple of years. Knowing the 'hawk and what it can do and when they come down in price so the younger hoons can afford them then sadly I believe they will.

For resale I believe the GT will definately be the best buy (I HOPE)

Sure, we all wanted to own one. BUT, did we actually ever order/buy one at the time? I don't remember there ever being a five to six month wait to buy any of the old muscle cars, and that (to me) is where the true measure of a cult car lies - not whether it is seen to be an icon, nor whether it becomes a collectable car, BUT the simple fact that it is so immediately popular that the masses simply can't get enough of them.

This is exactly what happened with the Beetle and the Mustang and that is why I compared the XR6T with those cars.
