O im not sayin dont stick it on the dyno at all, just I cant see how it would make like earth moving change only placing a cooler on the car.

im not starting anythin just talking from what I have owned and how they have reacted to mods. ill be gettin mine tuned early next year I cant wait

My brother picked up 27rwkw I think it was with just changing to process west stage 2 intercooler. that's 27rwkw after a tune though.

Yes I have a boost gauge. It's working fine, reads about 5 1/2 psi. Im actually going to the local tune house tomorrow morning with my cousin and his BA. that's the one I tried to tell you was making 330 rwkw on stock valve springs and on 12 psi and nobody believed me , all I got was blokes acting like jealous tossers because their poo barges werent making that power on that boost and with only $2000 spent. Well since then it has been to Mal Woods Automotive and had nearly 10k spent on the drive train and is back here to be tuned to as close as 400 rwkw as he can get. We will see tomorrow I suppose. I will get photo and video evidence for the non believers out there. Should be a blast, might throw the ute on to see how it ramps up also.

Cheers Sasha.

A new guy at work reckons his uncles Tornado, pulls 350rwkw's with only an exhaust and a 'black box' near the computer... :crybaby:

The Ba im talking about has a Capa front mount, 12 pound actuator, siemens dekka 60lb injectors, k&n filter, cheesegrated airbox, mal woods t56 conversion, 4.11:1 diff gears, axles, tailshaft and clutch upgrade. The exhaust is standard with the centr muffler removed and catalytic converter gutted. It makes 330 rwkw on 12 psi tapering down to 11 psi. I raised the details of this car before. And at no stage did I ever say it was a stock car with just a cooler. BUT...it does have the stock valve springs and this is the point im bringing to attention. RDP recently DETUNED the vehicle but it is back here now and ready to be tuned to 350 rwkw+.

Cheers Sasha.

yeh a cooler will give the potential of increasing power but just puttin it on the car and not touching anything else will not give you big increases in power say more the 10KW@W in a car like this you wouldnt notice it. but when tuned an intercooler will allow for that unleashed power to continue to be used over and over without heat soak and power loss

IMO the theorys that just an intercooler giving you overboosting problems is a bit of paranoia but then again I havnt had much experience. Just everybody that has put an intercooler on stock tune has been fine.

Im guessing you would have to be pretty unlucky to have overboosting problems and go into limp mode just by adding an intercooler

it depends on the efficiency of the cooler, because there is an airflow sensor which is located before the restriction in the factory under battery pipe, so if the cooler is very efficient then it can lead to a reading in the sensor that may cause overboosting...

that's a good example - the monza (or wog) cooler is probably only better than the factory cooler due to volume and surface area, however, the core probably doesn't flow much better than the factory cooler, where as fitting a plazmaman or process west cooler will give you much greater flow, creating less pressure drop and creating the "wrong" reading for the factory computer...

That wouldnt suprise me. My cooler is actually a Monsta cooler, which is a copy of the Monza cooler, which is a copy of the Wog cooler.....

Its probably cheap and nasty and no better then the stock cooler, but at least it gives me the "WANK" factor, which is important on the street these days...... hahahaha
