I have 20's on my car had have had them for ages now, they look awesome. I really like the look of big wheels on a car but there is a trade off in getting them. It will ride a little harsher, and you are limited for tyre choice.

If I had my time again I would get exactly the same wheels I have now but in 19's with a 9.5" rear.

Jack

Just helped me decide thanks mate.

I vote for 19's, with 20's it will be harsher, and alot less grip, which you need with over 300rwkw

Not true ive had 18's/19's and 20's and the 20's always hook up the best, yes the tyres are a little more $$$ but they hook up the best for the street, but they dont last long with 300rwkw

the ride isnt bad at all.

How many of these poeple saying that 20's are sht have acctually had 20's on there car?

trust me 20's are the go :yikes: 19's are like 17's these days

I spose it comes down to the tyres really, my GF's dad has a GT with 286kw at the rears, and his 20's spin in 3rd gear! if he runs the standard 18's its lucky to chirp third. The 20's are Wanli though....

I reackon it depends on the rim too, fair enough 20's look mad but some styles look stupid in 20's.

What tyres do you use?

Traction isn't really the issue as Im sure ill turn the tyres no matter what. I just want it to ride smooth and not rub when I turn and hit bumps.

19s to me are huge the biggest I have ever out on a car was 17s on my GSR. But they filled the gaurds nicely and it still sat at a good height.

Rubbing is not a problem unless your car is lower than mine, but the onlt issue ive heard with the 20's is bigger size wheels on the front e.g. 245's but you can get then it just depends on the off set,

If you get 275's for the back you may need to roll the guard but again it depends on the offset, and yeah 19's are fine man I was just having a joke, but yeah 20's really suit these cars man.

As for tyres I have used kuhmo ku31, they where ok but didnt last long at the moment I have sumitomo not the best beans but im trying some thing out with these, as I find the more softer tyre you use, does grip well but they dont last to long.

So im trying out a medium compound tyre.

I spose it comes down to the tyres really, my GF's dad has a GT with 286kw at the rears, and his 20's spin in 3rd gear! if he runs the standard 18's its lucky to chirp third. The 20's are Wanli though....

yeah senna is right tyre choice can come into play, but another theroy I have is that the 20's are a heavy wheel so that's why they might hook up better

When is this large rim diameter big is better mentallity going to end. Its a pile of -ank, slows your car down, gives a sh-t ride, adds weight, gives sh-t traction (even sh*t-er with tyres that come with these $2k rim and tyre deals), you will never be able to find a replacement rim for most of the 19/20" cheap rims out there in a few years time, you have a very limited choice of crap tyres, for decent 19" or 20" tyres you have to mortgage the house. It looks stupid on a car that has not been designed for a large rimed tyre in the first place (most notably VL Commodes drivers with 20" rims are retards). Then you have pathetic little brakes that look out of place with cheap ass Wanli $125 per corner 20" tyres and then you begin to laugh at those sorts of drivers. V8 Supercars still have 17.

If its anything you want its 9.5" wide rears in a size where you can get decent, well priced sticky tyres and that's usually 17" or at the most 18". In my book you dont want diameter, you want width.

I agree with every thing you just said TT, I just wish my 17" looked as good as a classy set of aftermarket 19 or 20"
