Scott's Ute was one of the first cars we tested our new intercoolers on. He left it with us for a couple of weeks extra so we could run back to back testing on a 450plus rwkw vehicle. Chip torque remapped it to suit the Queensland weather once it arrived home. I never road tested it although Dave said it was nearly a waist of time considering as it came on boost it just hazed the tyres in the first 4 gears.

Heat shielding is a far better way of containing heat. Turbo blankets and heat wrap trap so much more heat in that the turbine housing and extractors if they are wrapped fail. With shielding you still get air flow to remove the heat while still protecting the rest of the engine bay from radiant heat.

Cheers Simon

Steve, respect to you mate... that is one lean mean yre smoking machine...

Any thoughts on taking the trip down on the 1st of Dec to join in the BTA dyno day. It would be great to see how your beast goes up against Lord Brian Shredder....

Wouldn't that be an awesome day, 2 falcs with around 500 at the wheels.

Check the BTA section in the sponsors area for more info or click here

Ozzie

Thanks for clearing that up Simon, I just never seen it like that before even on big horsepower cars they have always got blankets but it makes sense. Do you think that would be because blankets are just easier to fit or do they have any benifits at all over heatshielding?
