Hi Guys,

Ive got a BF2 XR6T with the ZF auto, just passed through 9000kms.

Im a little worried about the auto box, because it seems to be getting quite harsh. In any mode, it will shift fine at small throttle openings or at full throttle, but anything in between or no throttle at all, it will clunk into the next gear, almost as bad as the 4sp from my AU!

I think this one is just it's programming, but if im just about stopped at a set of lights but they go green before I fully stop, I put my foot on the throttle (lightly or heavy, doesnt make a difference) it seems to change it's mind about gear selection, shuffle the gears around, then it really clunks into the right gear!

It also has symptoms of the backlash issue that is posted about elsewhere. When in first gear with no throttle on, ie just idling along, it feels like the car is rocking backwards and forwards! At this point, when I put the foot on the throttle lightly to smooth it out, it jerks as if it is taking up slack in the driveline then smooths out....

The car did have a major oil leak out of the diff at 6000kms, so they pulled the entire rear subframe from the car to fix that - could there be an allignment issue? It seemed OK shortly after that (it was perfect before hand) but has gotten gradually worse since. If I take it back to those diicks, they will tell me it is within tolerance, and then I may feel the need to remove someone's scalp from underneath their hair!

Any ideas???

Cheers,

Michael
