IHI VF22 which is an sti spec turbo which are different to the normal wrx 1s...

Do you know who the tuner was? That boost is well and truly over what a VF22 would usually be tuned to... Pretty sure it's out of its efficiency range too.. A mate made 215kw atw with only 18psi running through his vf22 (on a MY97 wrx).

geezus there is some bullsh*t about these AWD computer hero cars.

these are completely stock times from Motor at Wakefield Park which is a fairly tight circuit suited to lighter cars and AWD. Same Pro Driver.

MITSUBISHI EVO X 109.5

FG F6 109.9

IMPREZA STI MYO5 110.1

Bear in mind the two Jap cars come with substantially better tyres from the factory (Semi comps)

The FORD TAXIs can be made to be very fast on a circuit if spending EVO X / STI new type money on them. The above stock times give you a clue. Heavily modded, the AWDs will have the advantage but the gap isnt as huge as people imagine.

However, your BA Auto XR6T with Nankangs, shot shocks and king springs for example will definately be slower than a decently set up AWD on any circuit.

Yeah, but since when can the Motor guys provide genuine times for anyhting. Also, the EVO X is a softer, slower track car than the IX.

Bagging them, calling them bullsh*t because they use different technilogy to do the same job is fairly petty. Given the power of the F6, ti should be faster. Instead a car with half of the engine capacity can match it. Finally, I bet the F6 was harder to drive, making faster, consistant times in one of the AWD cars easier for the average driver.

As I've said before, horses for courses. The smaller, nimble AWD cars are darty little track weapons. The Falcadores are built as decently owered 'G'rand 'T'ourers. The AWD turbos are built for rally homologation, the big sedans have absoloutly no race use in mind when made. They are all great cars from two completely different markets. Both types have their place. Get over it!

back to english comprehension class for you mate. At no point did I call the AWD cars "bullsh*t". Rather, the BS that goes on with these cars. Your comment re lap times is lame. WHEELS gets very similar results.......collusion perhaps? :stupid:

"Given the power of the F6 it should be faster" read the rest of what you wrote and then think about that statement. I would say given the purpose built, AWD nature and electronic trickery of the AWDs they should be further ahead of the F6.

Ok you called them "hero" cars, but the sentiment was there.

Wheels and Motor are under the same ownership, and both produce dubious times.

My point is that the AWDs manage to produce similar or better performance with much smaller engines. All of their "trickery" therefore must work.

My point is, why do people such as yourself appear to get all bent out of shape and try to dismiss the smaller cars just because they manage to acheive good results through better, smater engineering. All because a car with half the displacement of your own is a threat. I'll say it again, they're two completely different classes of car, both engineered for two different purposes and two different markets.
