Opinion On Options

I was thinking of getting a few more accessories at my 3K service and just wondered what you guys thought of them:

1. Mobile phone presenter – Where is this fitted, or can you choose? Does the dealer install the extra mobile car kit to the stereo or do you purchase it from a Telco shop and install it yourself?

2. Headlamp guards – Do they deter from the look of the car?

3. Bootliner – Is it worth the cost?

4. Dashmat – I haven’t seen anybody with this option, so does it just look crap-olla?

5. CD Wallet – Where in the console is this supposed to go; where the tissue box is?

1. Got it - works well - it attaches inside the arm rest - can get in the way when manually changinf gears with the SSS

2. I dont like th elook at them - but after seeing a few of them I think im changing my mind - considering them myself

3. Got it - yes I think its worth it - hides that ugly carpet, and is a nice non slip surface, and is easy to clean

4. Havnt seen one - always hated them though

5. Dont know - I have a CD wallet (non Ford) and I keep it in the glovebox

2. got them, they are great, easey to clean and protect the costly headlights from stone chips and cracks.

3. got it, it works well to keep boot clean.

4. got it, works well to keep sun from cracking up plastic dash.

5. haven't got it, use after markit one.

3. Ain't got it yet but will be, am getting sick of the ugly carpet.

I've never had much success with dashmats in the past, they always shrink, fade and look crappy after a couple of months though these were non-genuine.

Jmoo2, I had the mobile phone presenter and quickly got rid of it. It was nothing like the one from the AUII’s. I thought it was a very poor design. There was a topic on this some time ago, I’ll try and add the link.

Thanks for the link. My wife has a BT phone and I'll be getting one soon so I might forget about the mobile phone presenter and just go with the BT.

IMO the HL protectors and the boot liner are great, I also had the Boot lid liner (ghia) which really finishes the whole boot section off nicely

1) I dont have one but looks ok in my mates XR8, folds away into the center

console when not in use.

2) I have the headlight guards and look ok, fit close to headlight with little overhang at each end of the lights and come off easy for a wash.

3)I dont have one and not seen one

4)I have it looks ok just a little cheap like a hair piece.

5)I have a CD wallet that goes on the sun visor,cheap and easy to use.
