I completely agree with everyone, robbo that sux dude!!! like ms700 said, make a scene and get them to fix the damage, I wouldn't be too concerned with getting them to fix the other issues, I can help you with that, let us know how you go - they oughta pay!!!

When the monkeys backed my ute into a pole... they repainted my car poorly (The paint was so poorly mixed, the rear bad looked silver rather than ego!) and didn't promptly respond when I complained, I rang up the dealer principle.

He was quite suprised to hear that a car had been handled so badly.. what do u know, 30 mins later I had an apologetic call from the service manager who took a bar off a car they had delivered that day & the next day it got put on my ute

So some poor sucker with an XR6 ute is driving around with my silver bumber :spit:

Moral: CALL THE DEALER PRINCIPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INFLYT - Ford pay for the repairs to be done under warranty, but they pay a little under the serivice dept. normal labour rate, they are also very strict on what is covered under warranty, it depends on the dealership employees and how good they are at making it look legit and not out of the ordinary - for example if a particular vehicle has alot of warranty claims against it, ford will look at the cars history, where and how often it has been serviced, what previous problems it has had and so on, if it looks dodgy, they may knock it back, and the service advisors know what ford will knock back, so they aren't alsways enthusiastic about warranty work - they want more retail stuff so they can make targets and get bonuses in their pay. It's all about making money, the service dept is a business, and unfortunately most of them are run like one - not a service dept!

Pat there is a real niche market out the for a High performance ford waranty shop like the old days of the Ford Super Roo.... Talk to your people your young and you are getting the numbers up on the board. Put a plan together and take it to the top of the pyramid.

Ford Australia doesn't know what Customer Service is.... if you have ever owned a New Toyota, Hyundai, Audi or almost any other overseas manufacturer you would know what I am talking about.

Ozzie

Agreed!!

The old lady bought a new 'rolla in 05 and while she might only put 15K kms on it a year the service from Toyota has been BRILLANT. They charge reasonable prices for logbook servicing. Of course they still have to make money but its always been fair. They offer her a car for the day or a lift / pickup from somewhere (and we are maybe 20min from the dealer she uses and they dont whinge) and it comes back fully washed and vaccumed and twice a year she gets letters asking if she has any problems / issues.

Not to mention her dealer rang her up every few weeks over the first 3mnths to make sure everything was still spot on. My Ford dealer just rang me to sell me stuff :stickpoke:

If Ford can do a big turbo 6 I dont see why Toyo cant update the 2j and the Supra. I'd be sold!

Macarthur Ford rang both me and my sister up about 8 weeks after purchase to check that everything was going alright with our cars.

Pat are you at Peter Warren if so I will bring my T there to get serviced, they own the Macarthur Dealer don't they so my fixed price $175 servicing deal can be done. :roflmbo:

First service on our camry when my parents bought it second hand the dealer stated the rear wheel bearings needed to be done. Gave my dad a quote for it and the service of close to $800, he said no probs, won't be paying for the wheel bearing or labour though cos the cars still under new car warranty. The look on the guys face was priceless.

7M - keep taking it to Macarthur Ford for servicing, speak to Steve McPhee at the front counter, and if you have something special that needs doing, ask if he can get stuart to work on the car - stuey built my engine. The Mechanical protection plan that you got is dealer specific, if you bring it to me, harrier could void the warranty.
