No Mods To Factory Stereos

I was just talking to my local car stereo dude, and he said that they can do NOTHING to improve on the factory setup. He said adding amplifiers, woofers or even replacing the factory speakers will void the warranty. He also said the car will sense any changes to the setup and will shut down the whole car!

This is crap, I am getting a ute and the so called upgrade is pissweak. (no woofer, no colour screen)

Does anyone know if this is true?

Has anyone changed speakers with any bad responses from the computer?

Has any Brisbane XR owners done this, and where did they get it done?

He also said, at least you can play cdr's. Expensive Daewoo Blaupunkt system won't let you.

haha I highly doubt the whole car will shut down if u put an aftermarket head unit and system in it...perhaps if u tried to add components using the standard head unit this may occur...

what a Load Of Crap put some high level input amplifer inline with the factory speaker system and use them, got no luck using low level (RCA) I just got a 2 channel amp for my wife and it has high level inputs which mean you can use the exsisting speaker wire and amplify the signal in series .... MTX have a few good versions of these Amps if you read around heaps of audio manufactures are making these amps due to car manifactors installing there own version systems ( BA , RX8 , etc.....) have a look around and I think there have been a couple people on the forum found that there is a good clarion speaker available...... GOOD LUCK!

Yes, there are a few people in the forum who have upgraded their stereo wothout probs, have a bit of a look around, I'm sure you'll find the threads in here somewhere

I have a 5 channel kenwood amp, 4 jbl 2 way speakers and a xpload sub in my xr6t and its all fine no probs at all well the only problem is my ears hurt no problems with the car though all fine wanerty pfff the stero componets u put in the car have there own wanerty on them any way

bez as stated there has been work done on the ford steareo look under ba stereo upgrades for photos of my setup also if you join as at the next brissy run I will be able to help ans show you what can be done
