I appologise (perfusely), it's just that waiting is a real drag, and though I wish new owners nothing but the best, it's really hard to log on each day and see people taking delivery of their babies ...All the best, my friend ... hope the next 6 days passes very quickly for you.And all the best of luck with your new toy. Guest BA Ghia Guests Posted 24/06/03 09:47 AM Share Posted 24/06/03 09:47 AM Just replying to the Alarm question.....Just speaking from experience....The last 5 cars that I have had (1985-Toyota Torago, 1989-EA S Wagon, 1995-EF Fairmont, 1999 VT Berlina, 2003 BA Ghia), and of the 4 vehicles my son has owned, 6 of them have had alarms fitted.Of all those vehicles, every single vehicle without an alarm fitted has been vandalised/broken in to in some way. (Graffitied, Doors kicked in, windows smashed, oil poured over front ends, 2 radios stolen, mirrors smashed).Of the vehicles that have had alarms fitted to them,1) My sons EF - has been broken in to, but the alarm alerted my son (whom was 50 metres away from the car at the time) of the break-in.2) My sons Motorbike was vandalised, and had alarm fitted immediately afterwards, and has not been touched since...The total cost of the vandalism, theft, and stuff I would estimate to be roughly $5000 over the years...The cost of the alarms have been roughly $400-$600 each vehicle....The Smartsheild module will help prevent joyriders from stealing your vehicle, but will do absolutely nothing in terms of preventing petty theft and vandalism....Just my 2c worth
