Fordboy, It's been back to the dealer about 6 times. I use my car for work, Taxi's are expensive when your using them alot, and also a day off work because the car is in a Ford Service Centre 100k's away from where I had to be, costs me a days pay

Ford won't fix the windscreen noise until I can tell them where exactly it's coming from! It's driving me nuts, cause sometimes it's there at 100kph, and sometimes not!! (Sometimes not till 120kph)

Mal, I had the same windscreen noise issue. If you put a bit of tape (I used duct tape) across the whole top of the screen, covering the gap between screen and roof, the noise will go away.

They fixed my car by putting a rubber mould into the gap between the top of the windscreen and the roof. You could do the same thing by filling the gap with silicone, but why should you fix Fords design fault?

It is a really easy fix.

Good luck! I suggest you've had most of your problems now and from here on it's smooth driving! :ermm:

Not too much from me,

Missing tweeters in the A pillers, slowly leaking coolant,

just starting to get the brake shudder, (at 7500 km) heat shield vibration (twice), all fixed or 2B fixed at next opportunity. No questions at all from the dealer.

2800km's and I have beaten your record.

1. Pulsing when in Reverse Gear

2. Change from 1st - 2nd, 2nd - 3rd and down again very very rough. I have driven about 4 auto turbo's and mine is the only one with this problem

3. Alternator / Turbo whine comming through rear speakers above 2500RPM

4. Oil was at the low mark at 2200kms

5. Front drivers side blinker not working

6. Drivers side C pillar broken when Mobile car kit antenna was installed by the dealer

7. Interference between mobile phone and stereo when phone is in cradle (installer said it is not normal)

8. Front passenger seat base moves back and forth when accelerating and braking

9. Brake shudder

10. Whistle from sunroof over 90km/ph

11. Rattling noise when idling

12. Car has stalled on me 4 times since picking up, 3 times was in reverse gear

13. Different scratches on the body noticed at the dealer before I picked it up

14. Tint on the sunroof scratched

15. Metal above drivers side rear lights bent from factory

16. Weird idling, sounds like its choking sometimes

I have GADAN booked in for two days next week. That is going to be complete hell....

Mal,

I can't believe your dealer is stalling on the windscreen, what pr!cks.

There is a seal insert they use now across the top of your windscreen (that's where the noise is generated). Someone posted a photo of it, looks good. Cheap, easy fix.

The noise is caused by the eyrathane bead under the screen is too thin, my fix involved taking the original screen out, running a thicker bead of eyrathane and putting a new screen in (choice  ), problem solved, but the insert is probably the standard Ford fix now.

Hope you can get the problem sorted out mate, its worth pushing them, as the noise really p!ssed me off, big time

I don't believe you should use silicone to seal. I recall on the XE's it used to cause corrosion.
