My Xr6t At Ford Today

[Cam]

1. Bug imbedded in paint on bonnet - they will get authorisation from Ford to have repainted.

2. Grinding coming from steering - replaced as part of Ford recall

3. Shuddering through steering wheel (not braking) - loosened and retentioned bolts on steering rack

4. Cut in steering wheel - air bag replaced

5. 6 from XR6 falling off boot - new badge ordered

6. Fuse panel cover falling off - new one fitted

7. Rear dash carpet not fitted correctly - re fitted

8. SSS squeaking when changing gears manually - disassembled and lubricated with non greasy silicon

9. Radiator coolant leak - new thermostat gasket fitted

10. Air intake fell off turbo - fit checked and tightened

11.Gridning noise when opening armrest - to be corrected at next visit

12. 3000 inspection - done

13. Oil and filter replaced - at my request

Add to this list stuff fixed at my previous visit

14. Rattle from heat shield

15. Faulty VCT solenoid

So that makes 13 warranty claims and the car hasn’t even done 4500 yet!!!

Still loving every minute though....

Hows this... (And what did the dealer say..... Nothing!!!)

1. Oil leak from Diff (resolved)

2. Boot leak (resolved)

3. Door trim screws, and various screw caps missing (resolved)

4. Wiper blade nut cap missing (resolved)

5. Chip in paint, pre-delivery (resolved, but need to paint again due to dry spray, and apply paint protection)

6. Centre console material bubbling (resolved)

7. Driver door trim damaged, pre-delivery (resolved)

8. Alternator Whine (not resolved, antenna amp noise?? louder with rear demister on!)

9. High Speed whistle from windshield (now heard at low speed) loudest with front windows up (Not resolved)

10. Disk Brakes warped!!!!!! (Machined once, back again, machined again, warped again! Disks replaced, seems good)

11. Seat bases broken (resolved, broken again, not resolved)

12. Handbrake rub (resolved, WORSE, fixed again, resolved)

13. Vibrating exhaust shield at idle (resolved)

14. Smoke from bonnet, rough idle, whistle noise (resolved, broken again, resolved - Recalled to add clamps)

Will I buy another Ford, well put it this way, it's cost me over $1000 to take this car back and forth to the dealer already, so I will be thinking really hard next time, the B4 is looking better and better. It seems ironic that I sold my AU XR8 before it started to have problems and cost me money!

my old man has had heaps of company cars and he used to have have at least that many problems with every new one he got.....he had 1 commo (a VS) in there too (he didn't have a choice) and it was worse!!!

Mal, the windscreen noise is such an easy fix, get it done man. It used to drive me bat-sh!t, the car is just that little bit more enjoyable now.
