Hey guys n girls,

Just trying to remove the center console as I am changing the silver surround that goes around the auto gear selector (mine has bubbled). Cant seem to get the center console. I undid all the screws I can see, the plastic clips in the bottom of the console where you lift the lid but it still wont budge. What am I missing????

Sorry to dredge up an old post but the silver on my auto selector has bubbled as well (see pics..). Was looking at the link to the pdf in post 2, is it that simple? Cause when I was feeling around in the dark last night I couldn't feel a screw near the base of the stick...or am I on crack?

Then it just slides out and you shove a new one in?

Also while I'm at it has anyone had to do this before? and if so how much auto selectors cost from either a Ford dealer...or somewhere else?

cheers

Hey mate,

Yup you're on crack, there is a screw at the base off the selector on front (see piccy). She slides off, slide new one on, screw in, and you're done.
