I realise theres some good p plate drivers, but not a hell of a lot im afraid. The statistics in traffic fatalities speak for themselves. I believe there is a hell of a lot of extreemly poor young women drivers at the moment, and the stats I feel may actually change to where the females are worse drivers than the males. The thing is, that females dont have the 'agression' issues that males do.

No you f*cking cant. You wont believe it because your ego ( and your mates ) tell you otherwise.your dead right. Theres bloody good reason for that 25 y.o insurance thing. You'll get a few years on you, and you'll look back and think, sh*t if I do 130km/h I really could die. laugh all you like but its the truth. And your right the stats do speak for themselves. I just don't believe the restrictions will work alone. I'm not a p plater myself,(and I'm not bragging about my driving abilities) but I thought to shed some light on the other side of the story.I also don't agree in stero typing. there is good p plate driver's, but they get judged str8 away cause of this. All of us "Oldies" were P platers who thought they were bullet proof and the best drivers going around. The only difference is that now we are older and mature enough to realise most of us were dickheads or did stupid and dangerous things when were on our P's.Just like our generation didn't listen to the one before it and some of us died or killed innocent others. You current lot of youngsters will do the same and one day you will lay awake, waiting for your kids key in the door at night. As for high powered cars and P's that is just asking for trouble. You can get into a lot more trouble a lot quicker in high performance car than and lower powered car, that's a fact. It's only for 3 years so don't worry about it, soon enough you will be able to drive what ever you want to if you can afford it.Just reading through the posts on this thread is a good example of what I am getting at. All most of the younger guys care about is not getting caught or losing demerit points or paying fines for breaking the law. Some of us older guys read the same thread and just hope that you make it to 21 driving these cars and that you don't hurt or kill anyone else along the way. It's all about perspective really and that changes with age.I will hop off my soap box now and let you younger guys ridicule me, just as I did to older people when I was your age. But I have since lost friends and family members to car accidents and so demerit points and fines and "stupid laws" really don't matter to me, people do though. We dfrove cars that by todays standards are death traps. I guess what I am saying is that I am am an optimist, believe and trust people and lets not get into the mindset of just telling them what is best for them.My thoughts only.Scotty

I really dont think and xr6t is really a good car to learn or even be a first car to drive in.. sure fine if your just gonna granny it.. but soon as parents are out of car and the mates are in your either gonna get egged on or show off how it goes.. and well we all know how they go, and IMO its too much power for a youngling to drive straight away.and if your a lucky 17 - 19 yr driving one you either have the cash to buy one hell you should invest in a defensive driving course they are pretty good and fun too =D that's my 2 bob anyways
