Ford Axle's A Rip Off

I have refitted the axle to the car with a new bearing/seal and all is well and good. (Total cost of about $210)

Hope this saves anyone with a similar problem a bit of coin. Up yours to fords parts department.

sorry for the possible stupid question but does anyone know if the ba & bf cv's are identical? I use cbc through work so might purchase them & just have them replaced as a precaution.

good idea, you WILL very shortly need them now you have 500rwhp, GUARANTEED! otherwise itll most likely cost you teh price and inconvenience of a tow on top...

They are the same. BA-BF. And the part numbers are in this thread some where. Also, be careful with these CV's, they are cheaper than the Ford items. But I have had two CV's come back to me with breaks. They were replaced under warrenty too.

I agree that the prices ford asks are a joke. On All ford forums they even have southside ford as a sponsor (which is ironically where I bought my car from) who states can get good prices on parts. I asked about CV's and got back a price of $710ea.

They must be made of unobtanium and forged by the hand of god himself at that price.

Theres others around You just gotta look around. I just got a set for $660. Fitted. Reduce the clunks in my driveline also.

Mate I have and ive broken 3, but I have an option 6 mal wood clutch and my car is slammed.

P.S. The last 2 ive bought ive got em for 150 a shaft.

Now, last time I snapped the end of the passenger side axle so foolishly I went to ford and paid $650 each for two new axles, today I went to my local CBC bearing bearing shop and they quoted me, no sh*t, $270 ea delivered. I am so pissed because for what I've forked out I could have a shed full of Spares!!! I sure as hell will not be making that mistake again.
