I brought 1 of those solid alloy billet ones and it was so noisy I had to sell it. I spoke to Mal from Mal woods automotive and brought one of his. Like he said, you don't want a new car with a annoying whine.

I had the tremec Knob that Mal supplied fitted to mine buy i removed it. I have a scar on the inside of my left hand and the stitching on the knob made it uncomfortable for me to use. I have the Ford standard six speed know now. As far as function is concerend, the only stock 6 speed shifter i have used is in Nang3's phoon and the mal woods in mine is definatly a shorter and more precise shift. (oh and Ross is a big girly man) I have found that the harder you use the shifter from day 1 the better the shift will be for fast shifts. I went fairly easy on mine and it took approx 7500k's before i could really smash it into 3rd with 100% confidence but if you drove it hard from the start and wore it in i think i would happen much quicker.
