Hey guys might sound like a stupid question to some of you but I know next to nothing about these cars. The car comes on boost hard in first gear but when its in 2nd the boost feels like it is almost coming and going and not constant. It definately does not hit as hard. What could be causing this and how can I fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Brendan

Hey mate here is a quote from AFF:

Electric Solenoid.

This controls functionality of actuator. Over time it will cease up and not open fully, or open very slowly, causing laggy turbo response.

Symptoms are slow to come on boost, doughy and undeceive around 2000 rpm- 3000 rpm. Not as much power as used to be. Using a boost gauge, there will also be a reduction in the standard boost level (6psi).

The step by step guide on how to perform some very simple maintenance on this device is available here from the second post: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=73561

Give it a read first and see if you are comfortable having a try at this as it isn't a really big job.

Hope this helps, otherwise try contacting C&V for advice
